Experience Summary
Extensive experience with systems that focus on processes to achieve
engineering, manufacturing, and quality objectives of high technology
companies. Expertise spans: manufacturing execution, data collection and
automation systems, world-class manufacturing practices, management consulting
and leadership in achieving customer-desired goals. This expertise is augmented
by detailed project management skills, and extensive experience in data analysis
techniques for SPC and product Quality management.
Most Significant Accomplishments
- Analyzed, then teamed with the engineering organization to improve
Time-to-Market for new products with product development, ramp-up to
production, and establishment of documented development process standards
for Siliconix Corporation.
- Analyzed, then teamed with a cross-functional organization to implement a
manufacturing/ engineering data collection system to enhance yield and quality
analysis for two semiconductor firms. A focus of these systems is to minimize
customer wait-time for defect analysis of New Products.
- Architected and implemented an electronics manufacturing facility for new
product development and volume manufacturing for General Electric; first customer
for industry-leading MES: PROMIS.
Employment History
2001 – Present: Solutions Partners, Inc., Los Gatos, CA
Consultant
- Assembled and analyzed client requirements then contributed manufacturing
planning expertise to design and implementation of Oracle’s ASCP module for an
outsourced semiconductor enterprise. Contributed manufacturing expertise (Oracle
modules and previous experience) to the planning process.
- Designed, project managed, and implemented an Engineering/Product Data
management system to enable fast collection, engineering data analysis, and
reporting for process and product statistical quality control and problem
resolution for a fabless (outsourced manufacturing) semiconductor company.
- Provided guidance, systems expertise, and manufacturing experience to a
multi-site software development project integrating Oracle’s ERP with Camstar’s
MES for an electronics manufacturer.
2000 – 2001: FutureNext Consulting, Inc., Los Gatos, CA
Senior Consultant – Oracle Solutions Group
- Designed, setup, implemented, trained, and guided production cutover and
ongoing support for Oracle ERP Manufacturing applications for an outsourced
electronics manufacturing company. Specific expertise includes Inventory,
Work In Process, BOM (Bills of Material), Engineering, Quality Management,
Supply Chain Planning, and Oracle Shop Floor
Management modules.
1997 – 2000: Manugistics, Inc., Los Altos, CA
Manager, Semiconductor Product Management
- Managed product development initiative to combine Manugistics’ Demand
Management and Factory Planning and Scheduling applications from Tyecin
Systems to meet complex Semiconductor Supply Chain management needs.
1993 - 1997: Temic Semiconductors (Siliconix), Santa Clara, CA
Manager, New Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering
- Led cross-functional business process re-engineering teams in New Product
Development resulting in 45% improvement of Time-to-Market for platform and
derivative new products. Managed materials and inventory positions to maintain
consistency in this NPI improvement. Contributed to implementation of SAP for
this worldwide manufacturing enterprise.
- Architected and developed a Technical Data Management System (TDMS) based
on cross-functional user needs to increase speed and efficiency in responding
to customer needs for product defect analysis, yield enhancement, and product
quality performance.
1987 - 1993: Promis Systems Corporation, San Jose, CA
Manager, Systems Integration
- Defined and directed electronics and process manufacturing automation
solutions and automation implementation projects in North America, Japan,
and Korea.
- Managed projects and software development resources in San Jose, Seoul,
Tokyo, and Toronto to bring projects to successful completion on-time, within
budget.
1970 – 1986: AT&T Technologies,
GE Corporate R&D and Manufacturing
Individual Contributor, Process Engineering, Defect Analysis, Yield
Enhancement
- Developed process techniques for improved yield on MOS and CMOS IC’s.
Performed defect and yield analysis and perfected methods of collecting
significant data samples for meaningful analysis.
- Developed manufacturing processes and performed defect analysis and yield
enhancement for a CID Imaging array product with high pixel density.
- Conceived, designed, and implemented a semi-automated pilot manufacturing
facility focused on engineering data collection, device process modeling, yield
enhancement through statistical analysis, and manufacturing efficiency for bipolar
and CMOS IC’s.
